Doral's Graveyard Stew

Take stale bread and break in a cup.
Break one egg into the cup.
Heat 1/2 cup of milk to 192 F and pour in cup.

Eat with a spoon.

  1. I can't remember the egg going into the cup.

You must have been in the later part of the family and watched a variation on the original recipe. I remember it as, break stale bread into cup, pour in the morning's milk from the cow (preferably skimmed off of the top where there is lots of cream), and ... be liberal with the salt and especially pepper. Absolutely speckled with black on top!

  3. By the time I was raised we had moved out of the shoebox and could afford protein.
